How to Utilize Your Human Design Energy Type in Life and Business
Human Design can be a powerful tool in both life and business. If you aren’t yet familiar with Human Design, you can learn more here.
Within Human Design, you can find your energetic strategy for life and business. Each Human Design energy type (Generator, Manifesting Generator, Manifestor, Projector, and Reflector) has a unique strategy. If you don’t have this strategy in your life and business’ strategic plans, you’re missing out!
This strategy can tell us a lot about how to market ourselves, how to engage with clients and customers, and how to design our overall life and business vision. It can create a powerful advantage because it focuses on the underlying life force energy that fuels ALL THINGS rather than on traditional business tactics that are derived from the physical/material plane. I guarantee no MBA is going to teach you about the energetics of business. Let’s take a closer look at each human design energy type.
Generator
Strategy: to respond
Generators in business have the unique ability to respond to changes in their industry, customer demands, and competitive shifts. This response can look like innovation, problem-solving age-old problems, or in general, fixing what is broken because it lights them up to do so. Generators can benefit from using tools such as Instagram polls or quizzes to help get audience insight. Once they have the information they need, they are able to respond strategically. It is not in alignment for Generators to execute in business without responding to the perceived needs/issues they are noticing.
Manifesting Generators
Strategy: to respond and inform
Manifesting Generators have the best of both worlds. This human design energy type has the ability to respond like Generators but also to initiate like Manifestors. Their strategy is to respond to what’s needed and then initiate the change, cause, or movement that will take the collective to a new level. Once they’ve decided what to respond to, their strategy of informing will help them move forward. By informing, aka communicating to their audience or team what they intend to do, they will more quickly gain buy-in and trust.
Manifestors
Strategy: to inform
Manifestors are able to start things up and drive things forward, unlike any of the other types. Their energetic strategy is to inform. When it comes to communication, there is never too much of it! The more Manifestors communicate in business, the better. This can look like stepping up your marketing and communications efforts, identifying opportunities for public speaking engagements or podcast guesting, and diversifying your communication efforts.
Projectors
Strategy: to wait for energetic and direct invitations
When Projectors first learn their human design energy type, they often feel a bit of discontent. It seems as though their power is taken away because they are told to wait. This doesn’t mean that Projectors should just sit on their hands. In order to receive high-quality invitations, a Projector’s most important job is to show up in their passions in a highly aligned way. Projectors can benefit from a strong content strategy that helps them get their message across in a magnetic way. Common Projector invitations include someone signing up for your email list, a direct message after you do an Instagram Live, or a simple “What do you think?”. Projectors need not seek out things to respond to. They are better off trusting that the invitations will come to them, assuming they are shining their brightest light!
Reflectors
Strategy: to rely on the cycle of the moon
For Reflectors, it is important to ensure enough space and time in business. A good idea today may be a terrible idea 28 days from now. Reflectors need time to process in business. The more time and space a Reflector has in their business, the better. To execute their strategy, Reflectors need to trust themselves. Often their ideas or innovations are ahead of their time. Also, it’s important for Reflectors to have the space to have time and space. Hiring and outsourcing a team to support their efforts is key.
The bottom line?
Success in both life and business is as simple as leaning into the strategy of your human design energy type. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident, and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve, and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
